Hi Kerri! I'm in eighth grade and we had to design our own "Wheaties" box, or any kind of cereal box and dedicate the whole thing to our hero. I picked you of course. Many people here in Iowa don't know much about beach volleyball or about you so I have had a good time explaining why you are my hero. I am 14 years old and I play alot of volleyball. I am a setter for an older team and I have gone to the Junior Olympic National Championships twice with my indoor team. My mom is also a coach here in Iowa and I learn alot with her college team. Within the past few years I have started becoming more and more interested in beach volleyball. Two years ago, I played in the regional doubles 15's tournament and we won! Thank you for inspiring me to keep working hard! You are an amazing hero :) -

Hi Kerri,
I'm a 6th grader in Palo Alto and I'm doing a school report on my passion, which is volleyball. I loved watching you in the Beijing Olympics and I regularly go to Stanford Volleyball Games where you once played. I was wondering if you would be willing to answer a few questions so that I could include them in my report:
1. How long have you been playing volleyball?
2. What/who inspired you to play volleyball?
3. How does volleyball reflect your everyday life?
4. What excites you about volleyball?
5. Without volleyball would you be the same person? Please explain.
6. What advice would you give kids who want to play volleyball like you?
7. Why did you switch from indoor volleyball to beach volleyball?
Thank you so much! -

Kerri,
I am working on a presentation and paper on women in sports. Its a pretty broad topic but I am focusing on uniforms, family, and how underrepresented female athletes are in the media.
If you have the time I have two questions I would like to ask you.
1. How do you feel about the beach volleyball uniforms? Did you have qualms about wearing so little when you switched from indoor to beach?
2. How has being a mom changed your career?
Thank you so much!

Kerri,
My younger sister is an amazing volleyball player. She is number 24 in the nation for senior high school volleyball players. She will be going to the University of Virginia next year on a volleyball scholarship. She signed her letter of intent today and was so proud of her accomplishment. We came home and taped all of the news channels that came to the signing. When we watched them they mentioned my sister a little but then went on to give a long story about a girl also at her school who is number 24 in the nation for basketball. She is really discouraged sometimes because she feels overshadowed by this other girl. I thought maybe you could send me something to her that would encourage her to keep pushing through. She looks up to you and what you have accomplished. She wants to go to the Olympics someday or just play professional volleyball somewhere. I know it’s a lot to ask but I thought it was worth a shot. I would do anything for her and it breaks my heart to see her special day be diminished by media. Thank you for being a great role model for my little sister, there are not enough out there.

Hi I was wondering if there was any way that you could wish my son's volleyball team good luck. It looks like they are going to the state championship. It is a high school girls team.
We have the same last name as you and my maiden name is your married name. Also my daughter and you have the same . It is amazing that we have those names in common and my son is a volleyball coach. Thanks in advance for anything you can do !! -

Hello, my name is Caitlin Owens and I'm writing a research paper on the Olympics for my English class at Belleville West High School. As a part of my paper, I need to conduct an interview with someone who has knowledge on my topic. I am a huge volleyball fan and I have always loved watching you play, especially in the Olympics. I would love to ask you some questions about the Olympics in order to get a more personal insight to the Games. If you are willing to do so please let me know. Thanks!
Sincerely,
Caitlin Owens -

Kerri,
You are absoultly my hero. A few days ago my grandma asked me "if I could meet anyone in the world who would it be?" I quickly responded "Kerri Walsh". My dream came true in my home town of Cincinnati this weekend. I was so much in shock I forgot to ask you the question I have always want to ask you, How many visors do you own? You are my inspiration and I work my butt off to someday be able to be half as good as you are.
Your biggest fan,
Kiley C :) -

My 15 year daughter took up volleyball last year and has fallen in love with the sport. She and her Mom will be in Cincy this weekend to see you play. The community we live in just started up a club team this year, and we are looking for ways to promote our club at a high school game we are sponsoring. Do you make time at these events to sign souvenirs, as I thing it would be really awesome to give away a ball signed by you. I was hoping to get both yours and Misty's signatures, but I understand she's still recovering from her heel injury. -

Hello Kerri,
I miss seeing you and Misty play, but it is understandable. Congrats on your beautiful baby :)
I played volleyball from 8th-12th grade. Varsity front row all through high school. I've been watchin you for years. I always wanted to just practice with you one time...could have made all the difference. Wish I was still playing, I miss it so much.
Thank you for being an amazing role model and an encouragement to me! -

Kerri -
I just met you in Chicago at your signing and I must say how taken aback by you I was!
You introduced yourself as "Kerri" to me and I totally froze like an idiot. Thanks for being so personable. I am sorry I was so slow to react! I was just very impressed and caught like a deer in headlights.
Not only are you what my friends would call an absolute "smokeshow" in real life, but also you were so sweet and nice to meet. I have to admit I kind of was in awe of your demeanor and I thought it was awesome the way you carried yourself, especially being the ultra-accomplished athlete that you are. I wish there were more pro athletes like you!
Thank you for being such an athlete to be admired and for being so cool and nice to the public.
Good luck this weekend in Chicago, I will be pulling for you all the way!

I have loved watching you and Misty, esp. when you won the Gold Medal. I just moved to Redondo and haven't really gotten used to this area yet, so I missed the Manhattan AND Hermosa tourneys. Hopefully, next year I'll be more in tune to them and will be able to come out and watch you again. And congrats on beating Shaq. I wasn't planning on watching his show, but when I saw you and Misty were playing against him, I HAD to watch. It was actually kind of a fun show. Good job! -

Dear Kerri, I'm on a meet-up volleyball group that plays between Redondo - MH Beach, and we are volunteering for the Coastal Clean-up day. If we could set-up 1 game w/ you and your husband Casey or Kerri, maybe just to show up and sign a ball or two, or stop and say hi after our work is done, that would be great for the players that I play with. I moved here 2 months ago and they are a great group. We would donate to the Chase the Star Foundation, unfortunately it wouldn't be a substantal amount, but. This would be a no one needs to know basis, just a suprise show up. Congrats on your child, good luck w/ everything in the future and enjoy. jeremy -

Hi Kerri,
I love your gold pendant necklace you wear during your matches. Can you tell me where you got it?
